This is a recipe for a crispy chewy mochi donut ball with a hint of sweetness.

Rice flour (glutinous)
dough consistency

Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour
  • 1/2 cup potato starch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and butter in bowl. Add in water slowly and mix until dissolved.
  2. Add in rice flour and potato starch. Mix.
  3. Roll into balls. If adding sesame seeds, roll into seeds.
  4. Heat up pan of oil on medium high heat. Add in dough balls
    and fry until brown and floating while occasionally pressing down to submerge in oil.
